MEDICINAL DRINKS

MAKING DETOXIFYING DRINKS AT HOME

Medicine doesn’t have to be expensive, or time consuming, or difficult! Most of these drinks should be easy for you to find ingredients for, either in your local shops or online if necessary.

Delicious concoctions that are great for your taste buds and even better for your body!

ANTI-BIOTIC DRINK (5-6 serves)

INGREDIENTS

MAIN MIX

  • 1 tbsp. grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp. grated turmeric
  • 1 tbsp. crushed garlic
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 cup hot water

PER CUP

  • 1 tbsp. mix
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • Honey / Black Strap Molasses / Stevia to taste

METHOD

Add ingredients together in a sealable jar. Allow to infuse for at least 10 min. Strain 1 tbsp. of this liquid (or more to taste) to a cup. Add additional juice of 1/2 lemon. Fill rest of cup with boiled water. Sweeten if desired. Store the remaining mix in fridge for up to 3 days. Enjoy!!!

NOTE: I like mine super strong so I add the solids from the mix into my cup also.


BLISSFUL CHAI (3-4 serves)

INGREDIENTS (approximate amounts)

  • 1 Star Anise Pod
  • 1 tsp. Fennel Seeds
  • 1 tsp. Cloves
  • 1 tsp. Cardamom pods or seeds
  • 2 tsp. Roasted dandelion root
  • 1 tsp. Fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tsp. Fresh grated turmeric
  • 4 cups liquid – water, milk, almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk, rice milk, or a combination!

METHOD

Place all ingredients in a large pot. Cover and simmer gently for about 15-20 minutes. Strain into a cup, add natural sweetener to taste, and enjoy!

CLEANSING JUICE

INGREDIENTS

Your favorite combination of Apple, Beetroot, Carrot, Celery, Cilantro, Cucumber, Ginger, Parsley, Pineapple

METHOD

Get a juicer. Juice the things. Drink the things preferably on an empty stomach. Use as soon as possible after juicing to reduce oxidation of nutrients.

NOTE: These are all fabulous cleansers of blood, bubbling with anti-oxidants, anti-bacterials and anti-inflammatories. The natural sugars will give your gut a cleansing boost, the cilantro will bind mercury, the apple will aid zinc absorption, the pineapple will digest parasites in the gut, and much more!

GOLDEN MILK (serves 2)

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. Cayenne
  • 2 cups of milk (or plant based milk of your choice)
  • 1 tsp. turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • ¼ tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon natural sweetener of choice

METHOD

Mix all ingredients in a pot on the stove. Stir gently and bring to a low simmer for about 5 minutes. Do not let it boil! Pour into a cup and enjoy!

MILK THISTLE SEED CONCENTRATE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbs milk thistle seed
  • 16 oz / 500ml water

METHOD

Place seeds and water in a pot. Cover with a lid and boil for 20 min up to 4 hours. The resulting liquid is a concentrated form of milk thistle.
